The impact of skills training on job integration for job seekers in Brussels

This study analyses the impact of skills training for job seekers in Brussels on integration into permanent employment. In order to do this, the length of unemployment of job seekers who have undergone skills training is compared with that of job seekers who have not. These two groups are made comparable using the matching method. The results highlight the positive impact of enrolment in skills training on access to employment after the training. Furthermore, the positive impact increases with the length of unemployment, and is more pronounced for women, job seekers with non-recognised foreign qualifications and non-EU nationals.
